Gemotions

The warm sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. Sarah stretched languidly, the cotton of her oversized t-shirt cool against her skin. She had finished her morning coffee and was scrolling through social media, a small smile playing on her lips. A new video of a baby panda tumbling down a hill had her giggling.

Her roommate, Mark, clattered into the kitchen, a frown creasing his brow. "Did you see the price of cat food?" he grumbled, rummaging through the fridge. "Ridiculous."

"Everything's expensive, Mark," Sarah replied, still chuckling. "But imagine a fluffy little kitten purring on the couch. Wouldn't it be worth it?" She imagined stroking soft fur and the gentle rhythmic vibration of a happy cat. Mark just scoffed and slammed the fridge door shut.
